Recently donated harpsichord receives its SoM debut

On Tuesday, November 15, members of the Figured Bass Class were joined by guest soloists in an evening of Baroque music. The performance marked the debut of  a French double harpsichord recently donated by Mark Goldstein, Ph.D. The harpsichord was built from a Hubbard kit by master craftsman Ron Weigert. The instrument has three ranks of jacks, three sets of strings (two 8' and one 4'), and one buff stop. The keyboard and lid interior were painted during construction in the manner of Dufour (soundboard) and Vermeer (lid interior). The instrument will be housed in Music Building Room 101 (MUB 101) and available for concerts in this space. The College of the Arts and the School of Music extends their appreciation to Dr. Goldstein for this generous donation.
