Laura Ellis performs and lectures at carillon festival

University carillonneur Laura Ellis was a guest artist at the Midwest Regional Carillon Festival and Composer’s Forum held recently at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. In addition to guest carillonneurs from the United States, the festival included artists from Denmark and France. On Wednesday, October 12th, Ellis performed a solo carillon recital of compositions by American composers. The following day, she presented a lecture for attendees entitled “Compositional Landscapes: the Carillon Works of John Pozdro.” Pozdro was a longtime composition and theory professor at the University of Kansas, where Ellis received her graduate degrees and primary carillon instruction.
