Echoes from the Cabinet Pt. 1 on display through April 19

Echoes From the Cabinet Pt. 1 features work by students from the School of Art History who are currently researching collections at the Florida Museum of Natural History and studying the history of Cabinets of Curiosity. The exhibition spans two venues that are showing work concurrently: The lobby of the Florida Museum of Natural History (Dickinson Hall) and the Focus Gallery in Fine Arts Building C. On display from March 20 through April 19, 2014 the exhibition includes works by: Carlota de Caralt, Erin Curry, Lydia Dildilian, Sam Greek, Juan Griego, David Goerk, Clay Howard-Smith, Oliver Klicker, Jordan Kady, Elexis King, Kimberlyn Lamb, Jenna Miller, Sean Miller, Lauren Molina, Mario Mutis, Becca Negron, Vanessa Omayor, Zak Rabani, Emma Roulette, Miguel Saludes, Zaina Sheets, JT Smalley, Ashling Smith and Hilary White.

The course is a part of the “Repurposing the Wunderkammer” project organized by School of Art and Art History Assistant Professor Sean Miller and Assistant Professor Dr. Stuart McDaniel, Department of Biology. The “Repurposing the Wunderkammer” project includes curated exhibitions, this studio art course held at the Florida Museum of Natural History, and public lectures and screenings. These events are co-funded or supported by a Creative Campus Catalyst Fund, the Florida Museum of Natural History, Samuel P. Harn Museum, Analogous Thinking Grant, and the School of Art and Art History Visiting Artists / Scholars Committee Marston Fund.
