In this online course, participants will explore topics related to teaching from the perspective of Dalcroze Eurhythmics. Activity planning, lesson planning, viewing videos of Dalcroze Eurhythmics instruction, reading about the philosophy and practice of the approach, and experiential activities to be completed at home will all be included in the course. Students will offer one another feedback on lesson plans developed in the course, which will continue for a week after the course is completed. This workshop is a great introduction to Dalcroze pedagogy, but also serves as a bridge between experience and practice for those who may have attended brief Dalcroze workshops as a participant but who have never had the opportunity to learn how to apply the insights from those workshops into their own teaching practices.
Instructor: Dr. Todd Anderson, Artistic and Curricular Director, University of Kentucky Dalcroze Institute
