Lecture, "Hurt Me Plenty," by Visiting Artist Aram Bartholl.

Aram Bartholl is a Berlin-based conceptual artist known for his examination of the relationship between the digital and physical world. His work creates an interplay between internet, culture and reality. Communication channels are taken for granted these days, but how do they influence us? Bartholl asks not only what man is doing with media, but what media does with man. The tension between public and private, online and offline, technology infatuation and everyday life creates the core of his work. In public interventions and public installations Bartholl examines which and how parts of the digital world can reach back into reality.

Bartholl's talk is organized by the School of Art and Art History's Visiting Artist and Scholar Committee and funded by the Marston Fund as well as the UF Doctoral Mentoring Award.
