First Colloquium on Felipe Guaman Poma de Ayala at UF: Colonial and Indigenous History, Art, and Literature Intertwined
March 5 – 6, 2026
This two-day colloquium will bring together leading scholars of the Indigenous Peruvian intellectual Felipe Guaman Poma de Ayala to explore the art, narrative, and historical significance of his 1615 manuscript. The event will convene three distinguished keynote speakers, along with 23 scholars from institutions across the United States, Latin America, and Europe. Presentations will engage in a wide range of perspectives, including literature, history, art history, anthropology, linguistics, political science, digital humanities, and creative writing.
