From Vision to Victory: Arts in Health Legislation in Georgia

Join the UF Center for Arts in Medicine for a moderated conversation exploring the successful passage of landmark arts in health legislation in Georgia and what it means for the future of the field. This webinar will examine the strategy, partnerships, and advocacy that helped make Georgia the first state in the nation to formally pass legislation acknowledging the effectiveness of arts for health initiatives in improving mental health outcomes across clinical and community contexts.
Moderated by Alex Rodriguez, MPH, PhD (abd), Research Associate, UF Center for Arts in Medicine, the conversation will feature panelists who were instrumental in advancing and securing passage of this landmark legislation:

• Representative Kim Schofield, Member of the Georgia House of Representatives
• Dyllón Burnside, Artist and Founder of Burnside Artist Retreat
• Khadijah Ameen, PhD, MPH, Co-founder and Director of Policy and Research at BLKHLTH
Together, speakers will share lessons in coalition-building, policy development, and how arts in health leaders across the country can advance similar efforts in their own communities.
