Join artists, healthcare and public health professionals, researchers, educators, administrators, and community leaders for three days of immersive learning at the UF Center for Arts in Medicine’s Arts in Health Intensive, a premier professional development experience exploring the role of the arts in health and wellbeing.
Designed for both newcomers and experienced learners, the Intensive examines how arts and culture can improve health across healthcare, public health, and community settings. Through engaging lectures, hands-on workshops, collaborative discussions, and artist-based experiential learning, you’ll gain practical skills, discover the latest research, and build lasting connections with a global community advancing the field.
Whether you’re launching a new program, strengthening your existing practice or starting a new one, or looking to deepen your understanding of the evidence behind arts in health, you’ll leave with actionable knowledge, new perspectives, and an expanded professional network.

Registration for the Arts in Health Intensive includes:

Dance in Health Workshop
New this year: Continue your learning with the Dance in Health Workshop, an optional one-day immersive training on January 29, 2027. This hands-on experience explores movement-based approaches to arts in health through collaborative activities and practical techniques that can be applied in healthcare and community settings.
Optional Add-On. Separate registration is required.

Scholarships
Scholarships will be available beginning December 2, 2026, unless the Intensive reaches capacity before that date. Awards provide $250 toward full-price registration.

Travel and Lodging
The Intensive takes place at the J. Wayne Reitz Union on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville. Discounted room blocks are available at both the Reitz Union Hotel and the Holiday Inn Gainesville University Center. On-campus parking is available, and guests staying at the Reitz Union Hotel receive complimentary parking.

No shuttle service is provided between the Holiday Inn and the Reitz Union, so guests should plan their own transportation. It is a 24-minute walk through the UF campus, a 15-minute bus ride, or an 8-minute drive.
