Summer 2018, the School of Art + Art History is offering an Art + Design Summer Pre-College Program to high school juniors and seniors ages 16-18.
The SA+AH has developed this program of Pre-College classes for the purpose of offering serious and talented high school artists and designer an opportunity to stretch beyond their current limitations artistically, giving them a chance to grow their portfolios, make new friends, and experience the beautiful University of Florida campus. They will discover and learn in our facilities, and get to know the faculty while participating in exciting studio learning experiences.
Three courses will be offered in studio areas ranging from photography, painting and drawing, and digital fabrication. Each course, created for young artists, will be exiting, modern and conducted with entry-level art students in mind.
All classes will take place on UF campus in the SA+AH studio facilities.
The Pre-College program begins on June 4 and runs through June 22
Monday through Friday
From 9:00AM to 4:00PM with a one hour break for lunch from 12:00-1:00PM
As an exciting end to the Program, all artwork created from all three classes will culminate in a group exhibition of student work, held in one of the professional gallery’s on campus. Parents and teachers will be invited to view the work created by students throughout the program during this memorable event. This exhibition will not only provide students with a professional context to display their work, but will also be a time where students, families, and the extended community can come together to discuss the work of the next generation of artists.
All attendees will work in the UF facilities and eat at the fabulous UF dining facilities. Lunch is included in Registration fees. This is a wonderful and rare opportunity to make new friends and build your portfolio while receiving world-class instruction at a world-class institution. All campers are under constant supervision by DCF-certified camp counselors who are also licensed educators.
All classes will run Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 4:00PM with a one hour break for lunch between 12:00PM to 1:00PM.
