Mitchell Stecker
Bachelor of Music in Combination with Outside Field
Mitchell Stecker is in his second year at the University of Florida, studying Music in
Combination with Physics. Though having had a love of the pipe organ since he was very young,
this is his first semester of playing the instrument. Also an active member of the University of
Florida Carillon Studio, he attended the 2011 joint congress of the World Carillon Federation
and Guild of Carillonneurs in North America, held in Michigan, and participated in the 75th
anniversary concert at that event.
Mitchell is a member of several other musical groups at UF and in the Gainesville area, including the University of Florida Basketball Pep Band, the UF Africa Choir, and participates at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in both the Holy Trinity Choir and the handbell ensemble. In his free time, he enjoys discovering and collecting world music, following UF athletics, reading, and studying foreign languages. Upon graduating, he hopes to pursue a graduate degree in acoustics.
