SOM Phd Candidate Morgan Rich wins Rey M. Longyear Student Paper Competition

At a recent American Musicological Society meeting for the South Central Chapter, School of Music PhD candidate Morgan Rich won the Longyear Student Paper Award for best student paper delivered at the meeting. Her paper was titled, "Constructing a Narrative: Reexamining Theodor Adorno's 'Alban Berg, Master of the Smallest Link' Through Source Study." Rich is a PhD Candidate in Musicology, and this paper is a part of her larger dissertation project, which reexamines how Alban Berg's music influenced Theodor Adorno's aesthetic and philosophical concepts. Rich is nearly completed with her dissertation, and is a student of Dr. Silvio dos Santos.
