SOM Ph.D. candidate earns two prizes at the Annual International Society for Ethnomusicology Conference

Nina Menezes, Ph.D. candidate in Ethnomusicology, recently received two prizes for her paper presentation titled “You’re Nothing Without the Studio: A Contemporary Woman Making Music in the Studios of Chennai, South India” at the annual Society for Ethnomusicology Conference in Denver, Colorado. The South Asian Performing Arts Section awarded her the Nazir Ali Jairazbhoy Prize for the best student paper and the Section on the Status of Women recognized her contribution with the Wong Tolbert Prize (Honorable Mention).
