Marcela Varona Carillo receives field research grant

MA Art History student Marcela Varona Carrillo has received the Center for Latin American Studies’ Field Research Grant to conduct research for her thesis in Mexico this summer. She will be studying an early 17th-century painting by Luis Juarez, San Miguel Arcángel, in the Museo Nacional de Arte in Mexico City. While there, Carillo will be consulting manuscripts related to the painting and the artist. She will also do research in other institutions that own documents from the Spanish Colonial times, such as Archivo General de la Nacion and Archivo Historico del Arzobispado. Congratulations, Marcela!
