Dr. Leslie Odom was invited to teach a Master Class for the oboe studio at the University of Houston on February 19, 2017. Included in that studio is Dr. Odom’s former student, Daniel McTiernan (BM ’15) who will be finishing his Master’s in Music in Oboe Performance at that school. Several students played various pieces, including the Mozart Oboe Quartet, the Mozart Oboe Concerto, and the Poulenc Oboe Sonata. A question and answer session was included at the end of the Master Class, with Dr. Odom talking about the difference between orchestral jobs and academic jobs.
