Extras and castmates ask if he is having fun, but it's hard to say “yes” when you're playing a real-life serial killer. That's the case for Josh Price (MFA Theatre '06) who currently plays a 1960s serial killer on Investigation Discovery’s A Crime to Remember. He also recently co-starred on AMC’s TURN: Washington Spies and Devious Maids on Lifetime.
“It’s a little fascinating to explore the darker side of humanity,” Price said.
While at UF, Price played Hamlet in Hamlet at the School of Theatre and Dance and Zander in Leveling Up at the Hippodrome, among many other shows. "The Hippodrome is another home for me,” Price said.
The things he misses the most about Gainesville are the food scene, especially The Top, and the football season atmosphere. “I also miss the 50-degree winters now that I’m in New York,” said Price.
Price said he wishes he left college with more knowledge about marketing, and his advice to current theatre students is to build relationships, be kind and treat everyone with respect.
“Listen,” Price said. “Listening is really important whether it’s to professors, classmates or other actors because these are the people you will come in contact with during your life everyday.”
