Gator Band alumna chronicles her life as a part-time organist in new book

Organist Joanna Adicks Wallace (BAE Education '56) of Orlando, Florida, has published a book chronicling her life, Minding My Keys and Pews: My Life as a Part-Time Organist. Wallace studied with the University of Florida's first university organist, Claude Murphree. At the time of her enrollment, UF did not offer music degrees, so she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education focused on secondary education, with a major in English and a minor in mathematics.

In addition to studying organ, Wallace played flute and piccolo in the Gator Band and has returned to campus many times to participate in the Alumni Band during homecoming festivities.

Minding My Keys and Pews is available for purchase through Barnes & Noble and Amazon.com.
