Flute Studio alumna wins Ocala Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition

Natasha Herrera (BM '13) won the Senior Division of the Ocala Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition and will perform the Fantasie by Georges Hue with the orchestra on February 11-12, 2017. Herrera regularly plays third flute and piccolo with the orchestra. Forty competitors entered the Concerto competition recorded round from throughout the state. All four of Dr. Kristen Stoner's flute students who entered were advanced to the semifinal round, which included 13 musicians between the Junior and Senior divisions. Katelyn Carty (BM '17) performed the Martin Ballade and Dylan King (BM '17) advanced to the final three competitors performing Lowell Liebermann's Flute Concerto. Congratulations to Natasha!
