Dr. Russell Robinson retires after 32 years at UF and 42 years in teaching

By Casey Wooster

Dr. Russell L. Robinson has been on the faculty at the University of Florida since 1984, where he is Professor of Music, Area Head of the Music EducationĀ Area and teaches courses in choral music and music education. His list of accomplishments seem endless over the course of his career that will be coming to a close at the University of Florida this spring.

Hearing about Dr. Robinson's retirement, UF telecommunication student Michelle Bentley thought that

. . . it was really amazing that he had conducted all over the world at these prestigious places, but still was involved with schools in the Gainesville community and the university. After sitting in one of his classes, it was very obvious that he's doing something he loves which is very touching.

Bentley felt that it was important to cover a story on someone so passionate about keeping art education a priority.
