Dr. Russell Robinson named Musician of the Year

Dr. Russell Robinson, professor and head of Music Education at the University of Florida, was named the 2015 Musician of the Year by the Foundation for the Promotion of Music (FPM) at the Thomas Center in Gainesville, Florida, on Sunday, April 26, 2015.  The award was presented by Cheryl Poe, president of the FPM, and testimonials were given on his behalf by Dr. John Duff, director of the School of Music, and Howard Freeman, founder of the Stop! Children’s Cancer organization. Selection criteria for this Musician of the Year Award include exemplary achievements and contributions through continued dedication and service to music: teaching, performance, composition and/or musicology.
