Dr. Anthony Offerle, Associate Professor of Voice and Opera in the School of Music, was invited by the Louisiana State University College of Music and Dramatic Arts to direct Puccini’s Suor Angelica at S. Paolo entro le Mura in Rome. This production, along with Don Giovanni , was part of the 2017 Operafestival di Roma season. The opera was conducted by Maestro Nyela Basney from North Park University in Chicago and featured the L'Orchestra di Orvieto Musica, a professional ensemble founded in Tuscany. The opera included an international cast of emerging young professionals, graduate and undergraduate students.
