Composition Ph.D. alumna Chan Ji Kim performs in Cuba

On Oct. 17, 2015, Dr. Chan Ji Kim's Jong (Bells) for fixed media and dance (choreography by Dr. Lisa Naugle, Professor of Dance at the University of California, Irvine) was performed at the Foundation for Emerging Technologies and Arts (FETA) and International Composers and Interactive Artists (ICIA) multimedia concert at the Center for Visual Communication Project Space in Miami.

Jong was also presented at the Society of Composers, Inc. 50th Anniversary National Conference held at UF's School of Music Nov. 12-14, 2015. Her work Night Raindrops for oboe and fixed media was performed by Dr. Dan Schwartz (Professor of Oboe at the University of Oklahoma) on Oct. 29, 2015 as part of the inner sOUndsacpes|Oboe concert at the University of Oklahoma. Kim’s work, La Passeggiata for bass clarinet duo will be performed on the Unión de Escaritores y Artistas de Cuba Nov. 14-22, 2015 in Havana, Cuba, by Guido Arbonelli (Professor of Clarinet at the Conservatory of Music in Adria, Italy) and Natalia Benedetiti (Conservatory of Music in Perugia, Italy).
