Coco Fusco, the Banks Preeminence Chair in Art in the School of Art + Art History, will be featured as one of the interviewees at the College Art Association Conference (CAA) on February 17.
Fusco will be interviewed by Steven Nelson, a professor of African and African- American Art and Director of the UCLA Center for African Studies.
Organized by CAA’s Services to Artists Committee, the Distinguished Artist Interviews feature esteemed artists who discuss their work with a respected colleague.
Fusco is looking forward to the CAA conference and is honored to be one of the Distinguished Artists. She will be discussing her work as well as the ways art effects social and political change.
“CAA's annual conference is an important gathering of art educators and art historians,” she said. “I feel honored to have been selected as a Distinguished Artist by my peers and I look forward to seeing many colleagues.”
The Distinguished Artist Interviews are held as part of ARTspace, a program partially funded by a generous grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. This event will take place at Murray Hill Suite East/West, 2nd Floor (ARTspace), New York Hilton Hotel. It is free and open to the public.
