By Casey Wooster

Ceramics Monthly magazine is currently highlighting the artwork and career of UF alumna Mariana Baquero (MFA Ceramics '16) in their November 2016 edition. This spotlight comes as an honor for Baquero as Ceramics Monthly and Ceramics Arts Daily boasts the largest national readership in the field of ceramic art in the United States.

The magazine explores both practice and theory, featuring advice and and techniques from world-class potters and artists, while exploring larger issues across the planet. Baquero's article in the November 2016 edition is featured alongside articles about the ceramic art in British Columbia and Korea, as well as an interview with renowned Japanese potter Masayuki Miyajima.

Baquero is currently employed as the Art Specialist for the Craft Shop at the J.W. Reitz Union where she is in charge of community outreach, workshop planning and studio activities.
