University Minority Mentor Program seeks ambassadors

The University Minority Mentor Program (UMMP) is looking for students to serve as peer mentors, or transition ambassadors, to new incoming students from the College of Fine Arts. Apply by March 24, 2014.

UMMP, provided through Multicultural & Diversity Affairs, is a valuable opportunity for first-year incoming undergraduate students to enhance their collegiate experience at the University of Florida. As they prepare to navigate the university during their first year, faculty, staff and upper-division students are here to assist them on their journey.

Transition ambassadors are responsible for facilitating groups of mentees called knowledge communities, serving as a liaison to an academic college, plan program-wide programs/events, attend various cultural events with mentees, and serve as a liaison between the faculty mentors and mentees, while serving as a peer resource to new students at the university.
