Bauer publishes research

Dr. William I. Bauer's research has been published in three recent journal articles. In the spring 2016 issue of UPDATE: Applications of Research in Music Education, his study titled Technological Affordances for the Music Education Researcher, which examined the use of technology in the music education research process, was published. In addition, Dr. Bauer was interviewed about this study for a podcast associated with the journal; it can be listened to at http://tinyurl.com/update-podcast. Dr. Bauer and Dr. Rick Dammers from Rowan University conducted a national study to determine how technology was being integrated into music teacher education curricula. Their report, Technology in Music Teacher Education: A National Survey, was published in the most recent issue of Research Perspectives in Music Education. Finally, Dr. Bauer and Dr. Barry Hartz, a faculty member at Cleveland State University, collaborated to assist adult community members in developing their skill in playing music “by ear” and improvising. An article based on this project, The Effect of Ear Playing Instruction on Adult Amateur Wind Instrumentalists' Musical Self-Efficacy: An Exploratory Study, was published in the current issue of Contributions to Music Education.
