Screen acting is often built up as a beast to be tamed, but in reality it can be both creatively fulfilling and fun.  Colin Waitt will lead a taster session that teaches participants how to bring out the best in themselves in their preparations and subsequent performances on screen.  Participants must prepare a memorized contemporary monologue from film/TV (that is less than 1 min) and a 1 min unscripted personal story (as simple as what it was like to brush your teeth in the morning) to share on camera.

Colin Waitt: is a producer, performer, and playwright.  Colin produces Puffs, currently in its six sold-out month at The Peoples Improv Theater in NYC.  He is co-producer of Serials at The Flea and also produced Time Out NY Critic’s Pick Kapow-i GoGo.  Select acting credits: Versailles 2015 (This Is Not a Theater Company); Kapow-i GoGo (The PIT), The Mysteries (The Flea); The Checker Game (Sam French Off-Off Festival); You Me Bum Bum Train (The Barbican, London); Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (Theatre 503, London).  Readings with Roundabout, Ensemble Studio Theater, The Flea.  He is a member of the television writing group at The Tank, and his work been produced by The Tank, This Is Not a Theater Company, Dixon Place, Tiny Rhino, Undiscovered Countries, and The Minnesota Fringe Festival.  He is currently developing an immersive audio play set on the New York Subway and a serialized radio comedy set in rural MN.  Training: The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (MFA), University of Minnesota--Twin Cities (BA).   www.colinwaitt.com
