  • Description

The Gator Global Initiative (GGI) is a social impact event that seeks to provide a space where students explore their individual and collective capacity to effect social change. Students participate in focus area sessions (i.e. Human Rights, Health Disparities, Peace Building, among others) to enhance their knowledge and understanding of significant issues impacting our community and communities worldwide, and explore creative and innovative solutions to these challenges. Students also attend a skills session to gain new tools for social change. Opportunities to connect and reflect with peers and presenters are embedded throughout GGI and these serve to establish new networks of collaboration, foster leadership development, and identify intersections across passions, disciplines and interests. At the heart of GGI is a call to commitment and action.

For the first time ever the Brown Center for Leadership & Service is collaborating with the College of the Arts to bring life to our theme: "Creative Minds Igniting Social Change". Throughout the conference, there will be special emphasis on how to use the creative and performing arts, as well as innovative ideas and diverse career paths to bring about social change.
