Come hear co‐founder and artistic director of this project, Delaney Martin, speak on the history and future of this evolving project that begun with her 2011‐2012 installation The Music Box, A Shantytown Sound Laboratory. The Music Box is and interactive experience that explores new modes of experiencing and creating music while building community. Constructed from the remains of a blighted house, invented instruments were embedded into the walls, ceilings and floors of structures created by 25 collaborating visual artists, architects and inventors. Performed on by 70 world‐class musicians for orchestral concerts and attended by 15,000 interactive visitors.

Martin will speak to the power of collaboration, experimentation and interactivity in this project that combines disciplines and unites audiences through a sense of wonder.

Delaney Martin is a multi-media installation artist and creator of performance spectaculars. In addition, she conceived, co-founded, and and serves as Artistic Director of New Orleans Airlift project.
