Hi, I'm Piper Hatcher Call, Executive Assistant to Dean Lucinda Lavelli.
I enjoy working in an artistic environment, and am very proud to be part of a college whose artists give so much of their time and talent to enrich the community we live in.
I serve as the college representative on the UFCC (UF Campaign for Charities) committee. Every year I do a bike ride from Boulware Springs to Hawthorne and back to raise more funds for UF Charities.
I also serve on the UF Superior Accomplishment Awards Committee for our division, where we evaluate and determine who will receive awards. I also assist in planning the awards ceremony.
I am a fifth generation Floridian, and the first in my family to graduate from college. My grandfather was orphaned at age five, had very little education, and made his living as a fisherman on the Gulf of Mexico. He always impressed upon me the importance of education and encouraged me to attend the University of Florida, which I did!!
Outside of work I fulfill my own artistic endeavors with traditional step dancing from Ireland, Cape Breton, England and the Appalachians. I am the director for the Inisheer Irish Dancers who perform at festivals and events around North Florida.
