A few notes on rehearsal times:
This entire schedule is subject to change, and will not be finalized until March 28. If there are potential conflicts, please anticipate them and let us know ASAP. We will strive to keep this schedule as close to intact as possible as the inevitable cancellations and conflicts arise.
This schedule is very tight, and your cooperation in keeping us on schedule during the Festival will help reduce stress for everyone. Naturally, there may be a little fluctuation in start times as rehearsals proceed. Rest assured that even if your rehearsal starts late, you will get your full amount of allotted time. We would rather begin a concert late than fail to provide our guests with adequate time for preparation.
Rehearsal times on the day of the concert have generally been allotted as follows: 15 minutes for "tape" pieces (regardless of length) and 30 minutes for pieces involving live performers. Certain live pieces that we anticapte having quick rehearsals have been allotted only 15 minutes. Certain works with greater technical demands have been allowed 45 minutes. If you have a tape piece longer than 10 minutes, please be prepared to rehearse only selected parts of your work. We will do our best to allow a complete run-through, if possible. Note that there are also some early-morning and late-night times left empty: this is to allow us to accommodate guests who may want some extra time. If you are interesed in such extreme hours please inquire with Sam Hamm at sam@samhamm.com. Hours listed are the absolute limits of availability: the doors to the facility unlock at 7am and are locked precisely at midnight.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for your rehearsal time. This allows you to get a feel for the space and equipment, and discuss your needs with our staff, as the rehearsal prior to yours is in progress. You may even get to start early if the rehearsal before yours concludes ahead of schedule.
Please direct any inquiries or comments to FEMF Associate Director Sam Hamm at sam@samhamm.com.
Wednesday rehearsal times
There are extra rehearsal times available on Wednesday, April 6.
1. We will initially allot each requesting composer up to 30 minutes, on a first-come first-served basis.
2. Composers may request an additional 30 minutes, if available, which we will schedule as a block of an hour on Wednesday. Because we want to accommodate as many people as possible, we may not be able to honor requests for an additional 30 minutes. It depends upon how many total equests we have. As with the initial 30 minutes, we will allot the additional 30 minutes on a first-come first-served basis.
3. The exact Wednesday schedule will not be finalized until after March 28. Please make sure we are aware of your available times and preferences on that day, so that we may develop the schedule to maximize the convenience of everyone.
4. Please direct any inquiries or comments on scheduling of rehearsals to FEMF Associate Director Sam Hamm at sam@samhamm.com.
